What is Black Beldi Soap?

Black Beldi Soap is used as part of the purifying Hammam cleansing ritual in Morocco. Hammam is a traditional bathhouse with several rooms (steam and dry) which is very beneficial to the skin, body and soul. Usually, the ritual is performed by someone else while you can relax and unwind. Hammam ritual consist of 4 steps:

1. The session usually begins in a steam room or sauna to open up the pores and prepare the skin for the cleansing process. Then, Black Beldi Soap is applied all over the body and scalp. 2. The attendant will rinse your body, to remove any remaining soap residue. Then, using a traditional exfoliating glove called a “Kessa”, the attendant will scrub the entire body until dead skin starts to roll off. It helps remove dirt and impurities, leaving the skin smooth and refreshed.
3. Rhassoul Clay Mask (optional)  is applied to the clean body and face. This mask is made from natural mineral-rich clay and helps detoxify and nourish the skin. It is left on for a few minutes and then rinsed off.
4. Relaxation: After the cleansing process, you are served Moroccan mint tea and can relax in a designated area to unwind and enjoy the lingering benefits of the Moroccan Hammam experience.

Black Beldi Soap and Kessa Glove is a must-have combo if you want to turn your showers into an ultimate spa experience. Here is how you can use it at home:

Take a hot shower or have a bath so that pores open up and skin becomes softer. You can preheat your bathroom for more steam. After this, apply Black Beldi Soap all over your body and let it do its magic for 10 minutes. Rinse off the soap. Get Kessa glove and start exfoliating with little pressure upward and descending strokes until you see dead skin rolling off. A bit redness is normal. Rinse your body and apply a moisturiser or body oil after the shower. You will be left with the softest and smoothes skin ever.
